Water vs Carpet! 

Depending on the category of your water loss, Category one(1),two(2) or three(3), will determine if SERVPRO is able to salvage your carpet. Sometimes SERVPRO will be able to float dry the carpet or even pull the padding and dry the carpet in place. In this situation SERVPRO was unable to salvage the carpet in this finished basement. During this process with rolled back the edge of the carpet to asses the padding in affected areas and determined that it would be best to remove all carpet. Removing the carpet allows SERVPRO to then sanitize and dry the concrete floor to prevent other issues down the line.
